Toasted Sesame Seed Tea Cookies

These cute little babes are the perfect cookie to accompany tea time. Munch on these alongside a hot cup of chamomile tea and you will be ready for a nice afternoon nap!

  • 2 Small Bowls

Ingredients
  

  • 2⅓ cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Butter Salted;Chilled; Cubed
  • 3 Large Eggs Separated
  • 2 Tablespoons Whole Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 ½ Tablespoons Grated Lemon Zest
  • 1 cup Toasted Sesame Seeds

Instructions
 

  • In a stand mixer (using a paddle attachment), mix the flour, sugar and butter until the texture becomes sand-like.
  • Seperate the eggs (egg whites in a small bowl and add the yolks into the stand mixer); add the milk, vanilla extract, honey and lemon zest into the stand mixer; mix on low-medium speed until combined and the dough has formed. Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, preheat your oven to 350°F and roll the dough into 1" balls in the palm of your hands.
  • Whisk 3 Tablespoons of water with the egg whites in a small bowl. In another small bowl, add the toasted sesame seeds.
  • Dip each dough ball into the egg white mixture then directly into the sesame seeds. Place on parchment lined baking sheets 2" apart. Bake for 25 minutes.
  • Transfer cookies to a cooling rack until completelt cooled. Store in an airtight container.
