Kool-Aid Playdough

Never buy store bought playdough EVER AGAIN! This recipe is extremely affordable, easy and FAST to make. Your kids will love smelling the fruity flavors of the Kool-Aid and so will you!

I am pretty sure if I was to bring home “Play-Doh” from the store, my kids would look at me and say, “what is this?”…..can you blame them (LoL)? I swear by my Kool-Aid Playdough recipe…..it is a MONEY SAVER and keeps them entertained for hours on end! The combination of the Kool-Aid flavors and almond extract smell SO GOOD, you cannot help but feel happy. Pictured below are the ingredients and equipment you will need to create the playdough (minus the almond extract…..ugh…..I forgot to include it in the picture, sorry y’all 😅). I would like to point out that I made this recipe five different times to yield five different flavors/colors.

Over medium heat, combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Vigorously stir until the mixture turns into a solid blob/ball…..the color of the playdough will become darker as the mixture solidifies. (The Kool-Aid flavors we used today: Lemon, Black Cherry, Orange, Grape and Blue Raspberry)

Next, remove the saucepan from heat and allow the dough to cool just long enough for it to be handled. Place dough on a piece of wax paper and wrap around to seal. To play, simply unwrap and enjoy…..when finished, rewrap and place in an air-tight container; store in the refrigerator. My Kool-Aid Playdough recipe will keep up to three months.

The grape flavor is by far my favorite! If you are looking for an entertaining activity that gives you the biggest bang-for-your-buck, then Kool-Aid Playdough is for you…..especially during this pandemic! I hope you enjoyed this blog post and please let me know what you think! Love y’all!

XOXO,
